[ABSTRACT ]

The T6 heat treatment is commonly used in manufacturing AMC components. The results of quenching in the presence of oil, water, and brine solution respectively showed an increase in the hardness and tensile strength of the AA6061-Sea sand composite as the cooling rate increased. But on the other hand, the increase in mechanical properties also produces greater distortion as the cooling rate increases. It can be concluded that the faster cooling rate improves the mechanical properties, but also increases the distortion of the AA6061-Sea sand composite.
