Model for Heat Transfer in Packed Bed under Local Thermal Non‐equilibrium Conditions

The focus of this work is the forced convective heat transfer in a packed bed under local thermal non-equilibrium conditions. It is considered that local thermal non-equilibrium conditions, which are made by the temperature difference between pebbles and their surrounding continuum media, cause the anisotropic effective thermal conductivity of packed bed by means of thermal dispersion. In this study, new model for the thermal dispersion is established with the same procedure to construct turbulence heat flux model. This model represents that the temperature difference between the phases directly influences thermal dispersion under local thermal non-equilibrium conditions.
