Industrial Systems (I) | 1-3 | 1 | This class provides a fundamental knowledge of Asian industry by the organization of site tours of both production and research and development facilities (including university laboratories) in Japan and other nations in Asia. Students are given the opportunity to discuss with researchers and technicians in these institutions via Q&A sessions. |
Industrial Systems (II) | 1-3 | 1 | A series of lectures by business people who actively work in the fields of production, product development, manufacturing and services. Following the examples of business solution, students will learn the thought processes & practical methods of 'Systems Approach', in which multiple departments cooperate together to solve their problems. More details regarding this course will be announced soon. |

The main objective of this course is to acquire knowledge of the international standardization system. The main focus will be to understand the laws, regulations, implementation of standardization, and policy.
This lecture will present an overview of international standardization. Various specialists who are playing active parts in international standardization will be invited as guest lecturers. The guest speakers will introduce and outline the technical issues of standardization and the present trends. A standardization exercise will be carried out.
