5th batch Domestic students The same RR&P (review, proposal paper and its presentation). It will be scheduled in summer or autumn 2018. N/A
5th batch Overseas students The same RR&P (review proposal paper and its presentation). It will be scheduled in winter or spring 2019.
6th batch students N/A As an alternative to the former RR&P, students must submit JSPS research fellow application.
Accept/reject doesn’t matter. But if it is rejected, submit again in the next year.

Fundamental Research (I) 1 2 Under the guidance of the instructor of Fundamental Research (I), the students will carry out their study in the specialized area of the instructor or related to his/her research. Students will plan their research with their mentor, tutor, and the instructor of Fundamental Research (I), and report and submit their achievements.
Fundamental Research (II) 2 2 Under the guidance of the instructor of Fundamental Research (II), who will be different from Fundamental Research (I), the students will carry out their study in the specialized area of the instructor or related to his/her research. Students will plan their research with their mentor, tutor, and the instructor of Fundamental Research (II), and report and submit their achievements.
Fundamental Research (III) 2 2 Under the guidance of the instructor of Fundamental Research (III), who will be different from both Fundamental Research (I) or (II), the students will carry out their study in the specialized area of the instructor or related to his/her research. Students will plan their research with their mentor, tutor, and the instructor of Fundamental Research (III), and report and submit its achievements and then give a presentation of the achievements of Fundamental Research(I) (II) and (III).
Doctoral Research (I) 3 2
  • Decide the title of the doctoral thesis, make a critical review of previous research, and write a review thesis.
  • Write a research proposal including the objective, method and the expected achievements of the doctoral thesis and then submit it to the chief examiner. 3) Have an oral examination of the review thesis and the research proposal.
Doctoral Research (II) 3+4 4
  • Write the doctoral thesis.
  • Report the research achievements in the “Interim Report” and submit the report to the chief examiner.
  • Have an oral examination of the research achievements.
Doctoral Research (III) 4+5 6
  • Write the doctoral thesis.
  • Report the research achievements including what has been done in Doctoral Research (I) & (II) and then submit it to the chief examiner.
  • Have an oral examination of the doctoral thesis.
