Enrollment: April 1st
This course is which most Japanese students belong to, thus, officially classified as a course taught in Japanese. However, it is possible to earn the required credit from modules taught in English only. Applicants who want to enroll in this course are recommended to consult with a prospective supervisor prior to the submission.
A student has to earn at least 10 credits among designated modules as well as complete a doctor thesis approved by faculty committee.

▶ Students of IGSES cannot enroll in two doctoral programs concurrently; however, one can apply for both Intellectual Exchange and Innovation Program (IEI Program) and IGSES Doctoral Program concurrently for insurance in case he/she fails in the screening of one of the programs.
▶ If you want to apply for both IEI Program and IGSES Doctoral Program concurrently, you MUST carefully read the guidelines of these programs and follow all the instructions about matters such as the schedule, application documents, and the payment of admission fee.
▶ If you succeed in the screening of these two programs, you MUST decline the enrollment in one of two programs at an appropriate time.
Required documents
Application form, Master’s degree certificate or statement that confirms expected graduation, a certified copy of the applicant’s Master’s degree thesis, academic record (Master’s course), letter of recommendation
Screening
The screening will be carried out on the basis of writing tests and an interview held in IGSES, Fukuoka, Japan as well as the documents submitted.
✔ Entry Requirements
An example of eligibility requirements is as follows:
1) Those who hold a Master’s degree from a university, or who expect to earn a Master’s degree (or equivalent) from a university by March 31, 2024.
2) Those who hold a degree equivalent to a Master’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution in countries other than Japan, or who expect to earn it by March 31, 2024.
3) Those who have completed their formal education nominally in countries other than Japan by taking a correspondence course in Japan and hold a degree equivalent to a Master’s degree, or will obtain it by March 31, 2024.
