Change in handling of English Scores required for Entrance Examinations
In some of the entrance examinations for the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences (IGSES), TOEIC and TOEFL scores are required.
Please note that the following changes will be made if you wish to apply to IGSES.
(1) Shortening of the validity period of TOEIC/TOEFL score
Currently, "the test date for TOEIC/TOEFL is valid up to three years prior to the date of entrance examination”. This will be changed to "valid up to two years".
(Example)
* Before:
If the date of the entrance examination is August 1, 2022, the date of the English test is valid after 'August 1, 2019'.
* After:
If the date of the entrance examination is August 1, 2022, the date of the English test is valid after "August 1, 2020".
(2) Submission of "Original" English Scores
In the past, when we require "English Score" in the entrance examination, a copy of the score must be submitted at the time of application, and the original score is not collected, but only verified at the time of entrance examination.
From now on, the original English score must be submitted at the time of application.
These changes in handling of the "English Score" will be applied to the most recent entrance examination of Master's course “General Screening (Second Admission) (Enrollment April 2023)” and “Special Screening of International Students (Enrollment April 2023)”.
Please take note of this change if you wish to apply.

The schedule of Master’s course “General Screening (Second Admission) (Enrollment April 2023)” and “Special Screening of International Students (Enrollment April 2023)” at IGSES in academic year 2023.
The date of entrance examination of Master’s course “General Screening (Second Admission)” and “Special Screening of International Students” are planned on Saturday, 17 December, 2022 in IGSES.
Please note that the schedule is about three weeks earlier than last year, so those who wish to take the entrance examination should be aware of this.
The application guideline will be available on this website by the end of September 2022. The application period is expected to be in early November 2022.

Regarding the Score Certificate for English Proficiency Tests for the IGSES Special Screening of International Students for the Master’s Degree Program
in April 2022 admission (held on January 8, 2022)
Applicants who are unable to submit the score certificate for TOEIC or the other English proficiency tests during the application period (until December 2nd, 2021), however can submit it by the day of the entrance examination, please contact the Student Affairs Section in the Student Affairs Division, Chikushi Campus to consider the eligibility of the application.
